nice. did you cast the shadow by taking the final image, duplicating it, putting in a gradiation, and distorting in perspective using photoshop's 'transform' options? or did you somewhat accurately map it out freehand? if that's the case, then that's really good.
:iconrob-cavanna:
There's no major point to freehanding shadows like this (nuthin' but time burglery). Once you've got colors masked, then your silhouette is done already. I say you guessed right on the transform, but a better technique is to use a large feathered eraser. More control. Also a nice gaussian blur. And if you're really anal, like me, then you might also want to blur the shadow even more in the far light areas (since shadows loose crispness as they are farther away).

Sorry, for butting in, Alessia. Shadows I know.

Sorry, I meant use a feathered eraser instead of a gradient. I'm a :nerd:

Nice to see this shaded/colored. I hope you finish Asher soon... and I'm holding my breath for Richard. *grin* ~Gwen

You guessed rightly i yoused the selection from the colors mask and give it some feather to start :D
then some free transform and.....
a BIG feathered eraser with low opacity :D
not very original i know, but it works and it really is fast ...
and sometimes it's what metter most :)

getting a cold is quick this time, but fish, fish may take a while

:D thought so.
But as qiuck and easy as the technique is, sometimes I still see it done wrong: too much opacity on shadow, shadow too hard edged, or not blurred properly, etc...
Even simple things can get messed up without a basic understanding of how light behaves.
In this case, obviously, you've done it just right.

So its a perfect learning example for our friend :iconannisahmad:

This is done so accurately, all the way down to the smug look on her face. Made me hate her even more in Cerulean Sins. I love the fur effect on the boots though, and that corset does NOT look the slightest bit comfortable.
